Hotel El Castillo - Ponferrada

The location was somewhat convenient, like a kettle or any glasses. Disgraced by the rushed dinner service that turned my dining experience into a race, i expected to be recognized with maybe an upgrade or a complimentary gesture, but alas, that didn't happen. I just couldn't!

Simply nothing too much trouble, good stay. Well-equipped room, beautiful view over the town and surrounding landscape. Location very close to the main town square. For shots visit Vinomio bar & Botanico, nestled within 10 minutes' walk of the hotel.

The place is popular, the staff are very friendly and attentive.

The units are bright, brand-new with air con, a bath plus nearby.

The spa bath was a fantastic way to unwind after a long day on the Camino. it truly made my stay enjoyable. The breakfast, although simple, was enough to kickstart my day. Just a heads up, the lighting in the hallways can be a bit dim at times.

If you enter Ponferrada from the north, getting to the hotel is ever so easy: just keep on driving straight and you find it. The hotel is opposite the Castle, near lots of restaurants and bars, but far enough to be quiet at night for a good night sleep.

El Castillo was located next to the Templar castle and near the Camino. It is located near the older part of Ponfarrada.

Room was on the busy street side and noisy at night.

The location was fantastic, just a short walk to the Templars Castle, great for our kids. We enjoyed the clean, spacious triple room, and the soundproof window helped keep things quiet when the kids needed sleep.

My wife says that breakfast options could improve.

Location. We were right down the street from the castle and the old town.

Desk clerk told us we were in time for dinner, but the restaurant was closed. Then she said we could get something to eat in the cafeteria, but it was closed, too!

Service was good, location perfect and the parking was good. Front desk staff were very helpful in giving restaurant recommendations for dinner.

Furnishings in the room were basic but in line with the price.

The location was fantastic, a short walk to the Templars Castle and charming old town. My room was comfortable and spacious, and the staff were friendly. I especially enjoyed the complimentary coffee on the terrace.

Breakfast options were limited.

Decent Stay with Potential

The location is fabulous, a short walk to historical sites. Our room felt spacious and clean. Consider requesting extra pillows upon check-in for added comfort. Breakfast options were limited, so plan to explore nearby eateries. The mattress could use an upgrade for better sleep.

A great Hotel, very close to the beautiful Castle, and walking distance fom the Bus Station, Staff were excellent, wifi good loved my stay here. Daylight saving occurred while I was here, and had forgotton all about it, staff, who poke pretty good English let me know.

Hotel was new, cheap and conveniently located.
